I had my first Chinese traditional massage today. I think the lady enjoyed seeing me wince and whimper in pain. Her mission was to break me into pieces and then massage be back in place. ZB told me to suck it up, easy for him to say, he was getting the foot massage while my bones were being cracked. I’ll have to think twice next time when I want to “pamper” myself with a “relaxing” massage.

That’s exactly what I want to know when I wore my winter boots to work today. Before you think I’m totally crazy, it was raining and walking through garbage water to get to work didn’t seem all too appealing. But when the rain stopped and the temperature went up, boy did I feel silly. Maybe it’s time to invest in a pair of rubber boots.

Monsieur Petit Pantelon

It’s so sad, here in the Middle World I can’t even access my own blog…I’ll have to use my lunch hour at work to post.

For the past few days, we have been visiting my friend’s house to feed her cat, Monsieur Petit Pantelon. The cat was purring and snuggling up to ZB while he was petting him, but ZB was too caught up in the moment and failed to notice when Monsieur Petit Pantelon decided he no longer wanted to be touched. Within a split second, Monsieur Petit Pantelon snapped his head and bit ZB on the hand. It was a punctured wound and looks like a snake bite. Not to worry, although ZB missed the prime time to get his rabies shots, fortunately Monsieur Petit Pantelon is vaccinated and the doctor said ZB looks ok. What is this thing about the doctor saying the virus can incubate in the body for up to 20 years!?

I went to the Education Exhibition this past weekend and I feel like a broken record. I think I answered the same question 100 times, literally. I feel sorry for those who caught me in the morning and had to listen to my broken Chinese. By the end of the day, I was a pro, I had the answers pretty much rolling off my tongue. It was pretty tiring to stand for 4 hours straight and look/act friendly, thank goodness this is an annual event.

ZB has threatened to smother me with a pillow. Why you ask? He says I snore. In my defense I only snore when I’m really really tired! Today I realized the truth, I caught the snoring from a friend, I shall call her Thunderbolt. I survived the Nanjing incident, Greatwall climbing and many other snoring episodes with Thunderbolt. One classic moment was when Safie, Thunderbolt and myself were sharing a hotel room, Thunderbolt being the small person that she was had no choice but was stuck sleeping in the middle. We were all deep in sleep and then all of a sudden this loud snoring ripped through the silence. Safie and I woke up dazed and looked at each other and we both said “How can something so small make such a big noise like that?!” and then we cracked up laughing so hard we were tearing up. Thunderbolt has no memory of this, she snored her way through. Thunderbolt says she doesn’t snore anymore, I think she gave it to me.

People who know me, know I have issues. When I say issues, I mean the little things that irks me, but I would never be able to explain to you why exactly I am bothered by them. Why is it that I can not have a guy wash my hair at the salon without getting goosebumps? Why can I never sit in the middle of a row without feeling nauseous? Why do I refuse to get into an elevator that is more than half full? Why do I never wear any tops that are sleeveless? Why do I not eat anything on a plane (no matter how long the flight is)? This list will probably be endless if I continue, do you think I’m weird?

其实他不送我真的没问题, 我对天发誓我是开玩笑要他送我的. 你别说送我, 让你送一个行动不方便的人耽误你顶多10分钟的时间很难吗? 你叫人家打车难道你不知道也要走上一段路才有车吗? 你不想送也可以找一个大体一点的借口吧, 什么不顺路要兜圈子is such a f*cking lame excuse.

郁闷的一天

What a way to spend the day….at home, sick with my leg propped up. My plans of singing karaoke, going for dimsum and maybe joining some friends for some bar hopping all went down the drain, very cham. The only consolation was the cake ZB bought me and the Pizza Hut take-out we had at home. I’ll just have to steal some of ZB’s thunder when he celebrates his birthday next week to make up for my lack of celebration activities
